Undergraduate entry requirements

Entry to year two or three

If you have achieved a Foundation Degree, CertHE, DipHE, HNC, HND or a number of modules of an undergraduate degree course at another university, you may be able to enter directly into the second or third year of one of our undergraduate degree courses.

We recognise qualifications from a range of awarding bodies including Aptech, ABE and Edexcel.

Students must also meet our standard English Language requirements. We accept a grade C or above in your WAEC as evidence of your English language ability for most undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate entry requirements

For most postgraduate courses, you must have completed a good Bachelor degree, equivalent to a British second class honours degree from a recognised university.

Some courses will have prerequisites, such as prior study in a specific subject or relevant work-experience.

Students applying for a postgraduate programme must also meet our standard English Language requirements.

We have partnered with a number of leading qualifications awarding bodies to enable you to progress or top up your qualification to a Middlesex University Degree.

You will join our current students on the second or third year of their course, along with other new students who are also topping up their qualification with us.

Middlesex offers progression options if you are studying the following qualifications:

• Aptech
• Edexcel HND
• ABE

If you're qualification isn't listed above, but you have achieved a Foundation Degree, CertHE, DipHE, HNC, HND or a number of modules of an undergraduate degree course at another university, you may still be able to enter directly into the second or third year of one of our undergraduate degree courses. Contact our Admissions team to see what your options may be.

Visa Matters

Students can apply for a 90 day Schengen entry visa through the Italian Embassy in Lagos.  All applications are submitted through VFS global. For a full list of requirements and assistance with your visa application kindly contact our regional offices.

E Residence

Once in Malta the University will assist you with obtaining your E Residence which will double as your Maltese ID Card up until the duration of your studies. This will also allow you to travel around Europe within the Schengen area.

African Scholarship

In support of the efforts carried out by the Maltese Government to strengthen ties with Africa, the Malta campus will be awarding a 20% scholarship to all African students applying for top up programmes for September 2019 intake *.

Students are not required to fill any scholarship form, 20% will be deducted automatically to all African students.

*The Scholarship is not available for students who are already benefiting from any other discounts/scholarships

Academic Merit Scholarship

The scholarship is available for all students applying for a postgraduate degree at the Malta Campus. The top-5 ranking Merit applicants will qualify for a 20% discount on their postgraduate programme tuition fees

The Academic Merit Scholarship requires applicants to have passed their undergraduate degree with an upper second or first class honours degree, and to fulfil all the stated entry requirements for the postgraduate programme of their choice.

Students can apply for the scholarship by filling in the relevant form. This is to be submitted to our admissions office on: admissionsmalta@mdx.ac.uk

Government scholarship and funding

All students are entitled for a 70% refund on their tuition fees in the form of tax rebate upon successful completion of their degree. The reimbursement is granted to all students paying tax in Malta post graduation.

International students who secure full time jobs in Malta post graduation are also entitled to the grant.
